The day before we set off we all met at Frog's place to put some stickers on the Landcruiser ute and to test pack everything to make sure we had enough room for all we wanted to take.

Dad and I left home in the morning, stopping by at Rod's place to meet Rod and his son Jarrod and convoy down to Frog's place near Newcastle.
On the way we stopped at a service station to fill jerry cans up with diesel fuel for the trip. All stocked up for when we cross the Canning Stock Route. Or maybe I'm getting a little ahead of myself.
Young and old, side by side, ready for adventure.
Vehicles all packed up, fueled up, we have a sat phone attachment that works with Frog's mobile. Not much to do now but eat with Frog's family for his wife Kerri's birthday yesterday and his son Stephen's birthday today, then sleep, then get ourselves to the bacon and egg breakfast tomorrow morning which is being put on by Mai-Wel before we head off on the trip!
Next time I post we should be on a day of driving in!
Once we are driving the map below should show the route we have taken, updated every 15 minutes.
