*The map should show now the entire trip so far, but doesn't seem to save much location information as we thought while out of Telstra reception. As a result there are gaps missing from our route, but hopefully you'll get most of the key points.
Also, not many photos until I can get a better internet connection*
Thankfully a relatively short day, distance-wise, but it was straight into dusty, bumpy dirt roads. The kind of corrugations that appear out of nowhere, then threaten to shake your teeth loose. So even though it wasn't as far as other days, it was still some rough riding.
There was nothing really to speak of on the road from Top Springs to Stuart Hwy, so we stopped every half hour or so beside the road. Frog discovered a new plant and named it Frog Wattle, or as Tony called it, Frogs Waddle.
We refuelled the Hilux at Daly Waters Highway Inn and had lunch, then drove the last 4 kilometres to Daly Waters Pub. This is another place that Frog and Tony stayed 2 years ago, and they loved it enough to come back. Mostly, they are looking forward to the famous barra 'n' beef for dinner tonight.
After booking in for barra 'n' beef we set up camp in the caravan park here and Frog got to work servicing the CBR125. Following that it was time for Frog to fit something he's been developing for the bike...
We would like to announce the fitment of a more advanced shoo roo, being trialled from tomorrow.
From one serious business to another, before happy hour starts I think the pool here is due for a visit, then it'll be straight to the bar!
Around the start of happy hour a husband and wife band started playing. Here at the Daly Waters Pub there is live entertainment every night. There's even a sign by the stage that says "EVRYNITEMATE!!" Nearby is a sign that says "DALY WATERS PUB N'TAINMENT". They certainly know how to cater to tourists here.
