*The map should show now the entire trip so far, but doesn't seem to save much location information as we thought while out of Telstra reception. As a result there are gaps missing from our route, but hopefully you'll get most of the key points.
Also, not many photos until I can get a better internet connection*
We held out for our first break until we got over the border into NSW. It was at Mungindi for coffee and to warm. There is a very cold breeze blowing today and Frog about has frostbite, he reckons.
Not much to speak of now that we're on sealed roads, so the most interesting things are mostly the breaks. We had a stop in Garah for a break. Then into Moree to fuel up and have an early lunch.
Narrabri for a coffee. Quick stop just outside of Gunnedah. Who'd A Thought It Lookout at Quirindi. Servo in Murrurundi to refuel and picked up some milk.
Who'd A Thought It Lookout near Quirindi
Between Moree and Narrabri there were more than a few wide loads coming the other way. Most of them were just a little wide, so we could keep driving, but one wide load... It was another big bucket for a mining truck like we saw earlier in the trip.. Frog kept belting along and was able to avoid it, and the drivers were having a laugh about it over the UHF radio. In the Hilux we had to get all the way off the road and stopped because there was no way there was room enough for us on that road.
We're staying the night with Gerald's sister Anita and her family near Timor and Murrurundi. We had a roast for dinner!
